NATIONAL CHILDMINDING ASSOCIATION
We asked Sue Wing, NCMA Childminding Development and Network Coordinator who is based at the Haven Early Years Centre in Gosport to explain more about her work:

"My role is to provide advice, guidance, information and support to new and existing registered childminders and home based carers on all aspects of providing a quality childcare service, to meet the requirements of individual children and their families within the local area.

NCMA Drop-in/Support groups are held on Tuesday’s at The Haven Children’s Centre in Gosport and Oak Meadow Children’s Centre in Fareham from 9.30am – 11.30am.  Regular activities include craft, messy play, singling and outdoor play, together with healthy snacks for children and a chance to network with other childminders and home based carers.  Parents and children are also very welcome."

Things to know: Gosport Registered Childminders    

  • Did you know that all Gosport Registered Childminder are regulated and inspected by Ofsted;
  • Gosport Registered Childminders are fully insured and checked through the CRB (criminal records bureau);
  • Many hold a level three qualification in childcare;
  • Gosport Registered Childminders take and collect children from Gosport pre-schools, nurseries and schools everyday;
  • Some Gosport Childminders offer Early years Nursery education within their home-based setting, sharing the care between the local pre-school.
